Currently, when creating a Credit Note for a sales order, which is usually for price corrections, wrong VAT, etc. - meaning not a physical return of the product in the warehouse, the system also creates the stock movements and the stock is returned in the D365 warehouse.

The credit note is usually followed by a new Sales order line with the correct price, tax, etc. And again the system creates the issue transaction out of inventory for the order line.

This is cumbersome when these actions are only for corrections and not actual physical return of stock and sometimes it interferes with customizations, stock cost, etc. The user has to go through the entire process of registering, packing, picking, packing etc.

The suggestion would be that when Credit Note functionality is used to create the reversal transaction, the system to not create any stock transactions for the product.

Return orders could still be used for physical returns, with inventory transactions behind.
