Dynamics 365 online and on premise should enable custom field creation of type 'Aggregated Fields'. This Aggregated field will be of type long text.

Usage: When the case is assigned amongst the team members or queues, the user can update on a single long text field. since, this field is of type aggregation. It would make easier for the assigned user to read through the communication/queries written against the case.
The user need not check the Audit history in order to see the earlier chain of comments
The aggregated field should by default on save, will capture the date and time and the editor's name in the same field
