It would be even more useful to define the email-adress the document is sent from.
For example: sales orders and quotes from sales@company.com and all purchase orders from purchase@company.com

BC had the ability to have multiple email addresses on the Document Layouts per Vendor and Customer before BC15. It is now gone and when I asked MS about it, they told me that this is now a new request. Why would MS take functionality away without letting the community know?

The requirement for branch offices should be handled by Responsibility Center. That way the responsibility center of the user/document should be the from address.
All of this should of cause be available via Events to cater for the special customer requirements...

The same is true for target adresses per contact. Normal use case are bigger customers, where branch offices get order confirmations and some head office gets invoices - but by branch office. There are all kinds of combinations here.
