Microsoft Dynamics 365
I read from another user who submitted a support request that Microsoft is working on some of the scheduling functionality which explains the difference in behaviour between the UIs. https://community.dynamics.com/365/b/nocodecustomizationconcepts/posts/how-to-change-default-appointment-behaviour-in-unified-interface When testing this, it is also worth noting the difference in behaviour when the Appointment is synched with Exchange/Outlook: Dynamics 365 for Outlook (Client Side): Appointment is synced as draft and invitations are not sent to attendees. Dynamics 365 App for Outlook (Server Side): Appointment is synced as scheduled (regardless to the behaviour you've identified) and invitations are sent to attendees. Hope that helps.
HI, Thank you for reporting this issue. This issue seems to have been fixed in our latest release. Thanks, Neerja
Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We will not be able to take this fix in the current release. Thanks, Neerja
Sometimes i feel Microsoft products are like a disoriented family members, windows is going for 64 and 128 bits run where CRM and others keep putting us back to 32 bit. Its a real problem for us the CRM Business consultant to make end users or clients understand these bits story and then say oh Sorry it wont work , undo ur office 2010 64 bit and redo on 32 bit.. All products are ok but for Outlook Dependant its like a nightmare and they simply say go away. A humble request and a serious advice , start giving compatibility to 64x based applications. Do not assume end users will use 32bit in all senarios.
Thank you for your feedback. This is not a common use case, and we are not planning to consider this at this point. Sorry about this. If you have a valid business case and more people vote for this, please reopen this issue. Thanks again. ====================== Prashanth GanapathyRaj PM, Dynamics CRM, Microsoft =====================

This is a great idea, and would be helpful for case management when certain case subjects/categories need a specific set of tasks or activities completed. It would also be helpful for automatic creation of draft acknowledgement/follow up emails to case customers.
Please, please re-consider this. Especially as the system gets more and more modular, having blanket security for all types (especially since that keeps us from being able to hide an unused activity type) is extremely difficult. We've had to do a large amount of workarounds to even begin to approach this - just to keep users from seeing/entering things that we don't intend to use.
I fully agree, and we are also looking for such a feature. found also further ideas: https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=a4d5a7ac-2368-e611-80ed-5065f38a2b01
This is a requirement for the Company I work for. Can we have an update on this subject please?
