In the belgian localisation there is a page 'Financial Journals) (page id = 11300). This page is a practical page to process daily the bank transactions. It is a copy of the general journals page, but there are extra fields on the header. The extra fields on the header are begin balance / ending balance. When registering the financial journal lines, first you fill in the ending balance (beginning balance is filled automatically = sum of bank ledger entries). When you try to post, you must be sure that difference between beginning balance and ending balance is the sum of all amounts of the registered financial journal lines.

This page is today available in the BE-version, but many times we see our BE-customers with subsidiaries in other countries (who are forced to use other localisation) need to work with this same page. In my opinion this page could be a usefull page to register bank account transactions in other countries as well.
