Generate financial report from D365 (missing parameters)

When generating a report from the Report Designer the user can select reporting units at runtime from the reporting tree. This can be particularly useful when picking operating units to be reported from a long list of available dimension values .
This selection functionality should also be available when generating reports from the menu in D365. Now the only parameter is the reporting date which makes this function less flexible.

It seems that any Reporting unit selection except 'Include all units' can only be used from within the Financial Reporter designer application and does not work when generating reports from the menu in D365.


We use the Report definition building block, Settings tab, Reporting unit selection: Include specific number of levels down from starting unit.

Note: This setting only seems to apply when running reports from FR Designer where only the selected number of levels down will appear available in the Reporting tree dropdown.

When the same report is run from the D365 User Interface, all reporting units appear available in Reporting tree dropdown.

To workaround this, we have to copy the Reporting tree and only list the nodes we want to show (causing more maintenance since now we would have to maintain two reporting trees)
