Issue summary:
Currently, the Microsoft Fabric virtual connector only supports the wizard‑generated connection and connection reference process when creating Microsoft Fabric virtual tables in Power Apps. Manual configuration of a connection reference or creation of a standalone Fabric connector through the Power Apps “Connections” page is not supported at this time.
This limitation prevents makers and administrators from:
- Reusing an existing Fabric connector across multiple solutions
- Manually creating or editing connection references
- Managing Fabric connections consistently with other first‑party connectors
- Automating ALM scenarios that requires explicit connector and connection reference management
- Applying standard best practices for solution‑driven development
Request:
I would like to request the Product Group engineering team to enhance the Fabric virtual connector capabilities by enabling:
- Manual creation of Fabric connections in Power Apps "Connections" page
- Manual creation, editing for Microsoft fabric virtual tables
- Support for standalone Fabric connectors that can be used across solutions without requiring the virtual table wizard
Benefits:
- Improve maintainability and reusability of Fabric connections across multiple solutions and environments
- Supports enterprise‑grade ALM practices and deployment automation (important)
- Enables easier troubleshooting, reconfiguration, and governance
