It would be good to have a counter when designing text messages to know how many characters are used. Both regular characters and unicode characters to know when the text message will be to long and be split in two by the third-party provider.

Thank you for your feedback. The Real-time journeys text message configuration currently counts characters but it does not highlight when an SMS would count as two messages. Currently this is not on our roadmap, but we are tracking it, and with more feedback and support from the community we may consider it in the future. Sincerely, Will Genge, PM, Microsoft
