With using the retail functionalities the function of "ship complete" is available to use.

The usage is to hold back all sales order lines from the "release to warehouse" until everything from the sales order is available.

In our case we use the item reservation set to "manual". The reservation happens at the beginning of the "release to warehouse" batch job.

In this situation the ship complete blocks the sales order from the release, because it is waiting for the items to be reserved - but we are using the standard functionality to reserve within the release job.

So the sales order will never be released as the "ship complete" button is set to "yes" with our setup.

This behaviour was also tested within a support ticket by engineers in a standard environment with the outcome, that at the moment it is impossible to combine the to standard functions "ship complete" and "manual reservation" because the "ship complete" check seems to be performed to early for the business case.

Those two Dynamics standards should definetly work together.

There are surely many business cases out there where not just everything can be reserved automatically. It is a pitty that all of them are not able to use the great feature of the "ship complete".

The "ship complete" functionality helps companies to lower the shipping costs: I hope the current incompatibility with the other standard D365 feature "manual reservation" will be fixed soon.
