We have multiple customers that have 100+ companies in their old NAV. To change company, CTRL-O enter the first three digits of the company name and TAD would do the job. Now I need to click at least 5 times to change company, and I need to scroll in the (sometimes very long) list.

Switch companies across environments | Microsoft Docs

This is a must have for instances with multiple (>100) companies. It should be possible to switch by pressing short-cut and just start typing. I think a good option would be to use the search / tell me feature for this:Finding Features and Information (contains video) - Business Central | Microsoft DocsUser presses Alt-Q'Tell me' open, cursor automatically active in the search bar. User types the company code/name and is able to click the company name. (or just hit 'enter' to go to the first match)

Some shortcut combination with numbers or F keys would be great... at leat up to 10/12 companies... Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2.... for example

Is there an update on this one?
Our customers now save urls with company names in it, also because switching companies takes too much time in the client. But once you open a company with a url, the company in My Settings is not updated. And basically you can't use the 'switch company' functionality in My Settings anymore because the BC advice/design is that mixed usage has to be avoided (although we can't force/explain this to our customers). We get a lot of complaints from customers on BC 19 that they can't switch companies anymore, but this is supposed to be intentional when you open a company with a url, according to support. And I'm directed to this idea.
But all we want is an easy-to-access functionality to switch from company. And one that also works when you have opened a company with a url. That's it. Thanks in advance.

Many of our customers are complaining about this item. Please foresee indeed again a shortcut for this action!

This needs to be escalated/fast tracked. It is 100% the number 1 issue for all our users. It wastes so much time.

I have clients too with 50+ companies - and I've had to add a custom rolecenter page to achieve switching in one click.

This should be a priority for the UX experts, at times I wonder where they are when the webclient was designed for NAV 2013 - yes, today the modern browser it's pretty, but is it fast, stable and efficient - so much more improvements to be done here still

To begin with you could in the menu top right where you gracefully added shortcut to company information, search button -you could consider having a "Switch company" button. If not click the company name is a solution, though I like that it goes to rolecenter as it is today.

Better technology is not supposed to waste our user time...
Too much clicks kill the apps !
And please find a way to apply a keyboard shortcut for this usual functionality...

Yes, we do need a shortcut to change company!

I agree with Wim Borgers. We just upgraded from NAV 2013 to Business Central. In NAV, you could click the company name at the bottom the screen and quickly select the company you want to switch to. In Business Central, the number of clicks is much less efficient. Clicking on the company name at the top of the page to easily switch would be ideal.
