VMI means vendor looks at our stock levels and decides when they need to replenish them (but stock belongs to us, it is not consignment inventory). In order to run this process we would need that vendor can access our data through the web portal:
- vendor must be able to see stocks of their goods;
- vendor must be able to raise a PO to warn us that we're gonna receive some products.
Of course limitations are necessary so that each vendor can see only their own items, they can only enter PO on their account and their products, these PO must be draft or journal and go through a workflow, etc.
