Cost-plus % pricing (Cost Factor) is available for Items in Sales Price Lists but not for Resources, and the Cost column on a Sales Price List line for a Resource always shows $0.00 regardless of what is set on the Resource Card.

Current behaviour:

  • The Cost Factor field on Price List Line is restricted to the Job source group only in the table validation, making it unavailable for Customer and Customer Price Group Sales Price Lists.
  • When a Resource is used as a product type on a Sales Price List line, BC only copies Unit Price from the Resource Card — Unit Cost is never populated — so the Cost column always shows $0.00.

Expected behaviour:

Resources should support the same cost-plus % pricing in Sales Price Lists that Items already support. Users should be able to define a markup percentage over the resource's Unit Cost, with the Unit Price calculated automatically — per customer, customer price group, or all customers.

Business impact:

Businesses that use resources with fluctuating costs updated from external sources currently have no mechanism to define cost-driven selling prices per customer group. Every cost change requires manual updates to every price list line individually — a maintenance overhead that does not exist for Items.

As a user perspective, I share the same concern and looking for enhancement of this.
