It is not currently possible to delete topics in commercial consents from compliance profiles.
However, as the purpose of topics is to target marketing emails, they are sometimes temporary.
Therefore, the ability to delete them would improve the user experience and reduce confusion through leaner tables.

Hi all,Sorry for the late reply on this. It appears this was mis-posted to the Customer Insights - Data, but you're actually speaking about a feature in Customer Insights - Journeys. This was not picked up as CI-Data removed its consent feature many years back, so the ideas folder was not actively being monitored. Sorry about that.I'll loop in the right folks that work on CI-J Consent.

Also - why is this marked 'Needs votes' and the Vote button disabled?

We have left over topics from our implementation phase that can cause confusion and wrong use of the application that we want to delete.

How did they build the new consent centre and forget to create a way to edit it as you go? Sometimes you need to remove a topic, a purpose or even a test compliance profile, not have it taking up space. This is a basic fundamental requirement.

Agree!!!

Same goes for purpose and compliance profile... Why can't they be deleted? Just imagine you want to try out something. You're never able to get rid of it...

Currently, Dynamics 365 Marketing does not provide a direct feature to delete Topics. This limitation can lead to clutter and confusion, especially when Topics are no longer relevant or were created in error. Based on client feedback, we are requesting the ability to delete Topics directly from the UI or via supported backend processes. This would help maintain a cleaner and more manageable environment.

I have found that if you add these in a Dev Environment it adds the topic to the solution. I don't want this coming through to my other environments.

During initial setup, Client decides they need one topic less... There you go.. Never used, null records reference, active for a day, but can't delete it...

Microsoft Why??

Thank you for your feedback. We don't plan to introduce the capability to delete Purposes or Topics, as this could introduce multiple risks for consent managament. The recommended approach is to set such records as inactive. We are currently improving the UX, so inactive Compliance Profiles, Purposes or Topics won't be shown in the segment builder, email editor or communication tab. These inactive records will still be visible in Compliance Profile management and advanced lookups. Petr Jantac
