Currently with the Outlook Plug-in and the Outlook App, only the first user to Track (or Set Regarding) an email from Outlook can update the Regarding field through the integration.

Use Case:

  1. Users A and B receive the same email (e.g. To:  Alan and Bob)

  2. User A (Alan) Tracks the email and does not Set Regarding

  3. Later, User B (Bob) attempts to “Set Regarding”

What happens is that User B's action (Set Regarding) fails without notifying the user.

A couple other interesting notes ...

  1. The user is unaware that the email has been Tracked (i.e. User A will get the person icon indicating a Track, but User B will not)

  2. User B is able to go into CRM, find the corresponding E-mail Activity record and change the value for Regarding without issue (i.e. it is not a security issue)

Requested enhancement(s):

  1. If the email is tracked by User A, then User B should also get the person icon in Outlook to denote that the email is already tracked

  2. User B (or any later user) can update the Regarding field from Outlook (or if not, User B should get a notification that this is not possible)
