now when you go to say a Task and add the Control for Rich text to the description field save publish then go create a task with rich text and regard it to a contact for example when you go to the timeline it shows the html in the field and not the rich text like the notes do.
currently you cant add a control to a card or that might work.

Agreed. It doesn't make sense that enabling the supported Rich Text control on the Description field of an Activity would not remove the offending markup when viewed as plain text on the Timeline control.
That Dynamics does something similar already to Notes on the Timeline should hopefully indicate that this can be implemented quickly.
