Copy the Data export Services function from Dynamics 365 to BC Cloud

Hi I will strongly recommend the BC Develoment team to take a look at the dynamics 365 Platform regarding the product Data Export Services, and include this as a technology to export data from BC. Not only for reporting purposes but also for performance.

This way it will be possible to export tables both standard and extension tables to an Azure SQL DB. this allows a more flexible way to used BC data for reporting and others.

The BC rest API Odata V4, makes it really hard to develop when you don't have the opportunity to compile new Queries etc. in the production system. also it is very slow when working with large databases.

please contact me to get the full details about the difficulties.

Information abut Data Export Services can be found here:

Thank you for your suggestion, this functionality is currently not on our roadmap. We will keep tracking it however, to consider for our future releases.

Kind regards,
Business Central team

Nowadays, this is possible. I have achieved it. You have to export data to Dataverse and then from Dataverse to Azure SQL. Here there is a tutorial not specific for BC but it is for almost all the necessary configuration: https://itsfascinating.com/d365/microsoft-dynamic-365-data-export-service

In order to access all the tables in Business Central for BI without creating many API pages, it would be nice to be able to have a daily copy of Business Central SQL Azure database.
