When MPOS/CPOS experience that the connection to the payment device is disconnected, MPOS/CPOS should automatically identify that the payment device is unreachable and thus switch into 'stand alone mode' where a test-connector can be utilized for registering card type and amount tendered.

In the same scenario, Ayden device needs to observe that MPOS/CPOS is unreachable and allow for manual entry of amount on the payment device.

This will improve the in-store user experience and would not require a technician to switch payment device into manual mode.
