In the current design of Dynamics Business Central SaaS version the User cannot navigate the product by Department as it can be done in the OnPrem version of the product. To navigate to a Page or Report the User has to use the Search Page. The menu options available do not help to navigate to all reports or pages.

The Product will be more User friendly if we have the Department Menu so that navigating the Product is easy.

I like the sounds of the alternate solution. I think a tree view or site map could work really well.

Overall, the experience with D365 BC is really appreciate and having a refreshing interface makes the system and features more attractive.

But, I believe having removed the Department menu and all the related screens is not appreciated by some users and consultants (like me), who are used to navigate in Menus, remember their path, to find all the required screen they are looking for based on logic, business solution and capabilities.
Honestly I would rather use my mouse and move around the interface and menus instead of all the time having to enter in that search bar a screen's name I do not see immediately. Typing is so annoying and time consuming because I have to move my hands all the time from the mouse to the keyboard back and forth. It breaks the momentum.
Maybe you can give the option to the user to be able to display or present the Department menu as he/she wants.

Or Maybe display the whole main Menus and screens on the upper screen as it is now. But just display everything instead of having us always running a research.
The research should be an ultimate option, but not the only one.

Dynamics 365 Business Central as a top notch product should not compromise user experience and friendliness of use. In this context, Departments is a core component to locate provided functionalities and tasks. How can we expect the user to type only in the search bar to locate what is needed? On a very well designed and good looking product as BC is, Departments would be a very useful addition especially for power users.

In a system with many menu items is difficult to link everything in a Rolecenter. Additionally we cannot expect from a user to search for something that he is not aware of its existence.
I definitely agree Departments menu should be a must in all clients,as suggested give the option to hide it from a setup.

Department menu is required to limit the time spent of typing in the search bar. User not familiar with the terminology really battle in the beginning to get around the solution.

I agree it is needed and should be setup driven. We have the two use cases, customers needing the department menu and customers using the role center as a way to limit the access to pages users can see an use.

I like Alt+Q, the reason why I'd still like to include Department Menu option in Dynamics Business Central is that especially new users will need to 'find their way' in terminologie. Experienced users will know what word to look for, new one's.... well they probably won't.

I think this will help new customers get and overview and old NAV user will feel more at home. I cannot see any harm in putting this in. If nothing else make it setup driven if it should show or not.

I definitely agree this should be added, similarly as it's done in Talent or in F&O.
