Thank you for your feedback. We need some more details to understand your suggestion better. Can you please help us by answering the following questions?
From the suggestion we feel the request is targeted at internal users only? Is that assumption correct? You are saying schedule and send email to USERS.
Is there an expectation to enumerate specific reports as for internal use only, e.g. they cannot be sent outside of the company, or they can be sent but to specific list of whitelisted contact (e.g. extenal accoutant)?

When setting up a scheduled Report, it would be great to be able to define multiple recipients. This would be both for internal users, and external users.

  • Internal: (Scheduled Report to internal user group)
  • When setting up the scheduled Report, the USER or Admin would have the ability to select specific BC USERS, or BC USER GROUPS (e.g. East Coast Sales Team)
  • These scheduled reports would have an option to be emailed to the address on the BC USER account, or delivered to each users BC Report Inboxes.
  • External: (Scheduled Report to External email addresses)
  • BC Administrators would be able to set up a Scheduled report to external email addresses via email.
  • Specific security roles to allow the sending of scheduled reports to external email addresses.
  • External email addresses could come from BC Contacts (Whitelisted emails)
  • There are scenarios where the external email address is really an internal email distribution list for company employees who do not have access to BC or simply want their reports delivered via email (e.g. Sales Team, Executives, Accountants, etc.)
  • One or many external email addresses (Contacts) can be added to each job.

As per my view, There should be Setup to define Report ID and Pre-Define Fitlers such as; Date Filters, Customer Filters, Dimension Filters (as per fields are available in the report). Based on these fields + there should a provision to define Sender Email ID and Receiver Email ID's (Receiver could be internal or external or any other people) + Define Interval (such as 1st Day of Every month, Last Date of Every Month, Quarterly, etc) + Provision to define Text in Email Subject, Email Body). Once scheduler runs, system shall share reports output in PDF / EXCEL to receiver.

We have an add-on that does this. We have not ported it to D365 BC yet but will if there is interest. More details are at: http://dynamicspath.com/products/reportpath/
