Example:
If the Requested Delivery Date in a Sales Header is changed the Shipment Date on the lines is changed automatically (when the question concerning updating the lines is confirmed) but the Shipment Date on the Sales Header in this case isn’t changed.

When this Sales Order is now picked up by the Warehouse via Inventory Pick the Shipment date in the Warehouse Activity Header is filled based on the Shipment Date of the Sales Header.

The same goes for a Location with WM setup, the Shipment Date of the Warehouse Shipment Header is filled from the Sales Header Shipment Date field. Note: the Shipment Date of the Warehouse Pick Header isn’t adopted from the warehouse shipment.

So, filtering on the Shipment Date for logistical documents in this case isn’t possible.

Idea:
This could be improved by splitting not only the Warehouse Documents on Date but also the Warehouse Requests.

In the idea only Sales is explained but good to mention is that the same applies for purchase, returns and transfers.

This is a feature I'd definitly like to see in future BC-releases. Because the shipment date on the sales header does not change when a Requested / Promised Delivery Date is changed, logistics has no correct indication when to ship Source Documents.

Logistics retrieves documents based on sales headers, not on sales lines.
