Microsoft appear to be aware of the situation (Article ID 946274) however I would like to know if it is something that will be resolved.

When anyone in our Company 'exports to excel' from CRM, they have to click OK on the warning message dialog that comes up about the file being in a different format. They then have to Save As and select .xls - ideally an Export to Excel button would mean that the Excel document opens straight up and they can click Save and it will automatically save as Excel.

It seems disappointing that there is a lack of integration between two Microsoft products, is this something that is looking to be resolved?
