Need this too!

We have submitted a ticket for this (2112210040005477) and while it's nice that it's in the telemetry, users need to be told when a Job Queue stops to know when to restart it. Users will not be sitting there watching the telemetry and then go and restart the queues. They need a notification in order to action the next steps. Even if it's just emailing users that would be a great help.

while adding this to environment telemetry is welcomed, it doesnt answer the original idea behind this request. We need a Notification being sent to a user to advise that the Job Queue has stopped.
The issue is that these people dont sit watching the telemetry they need to be told.
I will be looking at the Smart Job Queue app !

It would also make a lot of sense, if it was possible for external users to setup job queues and not only for the local tenant users. I mean, if you have Super permissions then you should be able to setup/edit job queues?

I don't understand how some ideas get like 5-10 votes, and get implemented... And this great idea with 81 votes didn't even get an automated response from Microsoft's team.
I think MS has a road map of their own, and if some ideas match their roadmap, they go for it.
Apart from my venting, it would be great to see a Job Queue Error Notification being dispatched AT least by e-mail.

This is very much needed for everyone running a job queue entry hourly/daily/weekly/monthly!
Microsoft should look into buying the rights from Smartapps, their app Smart Job Queue looks really good and have some good features such as:
- Recover a job automatically after error
- Send e-mail on successful runs
- Send e-mail on unsuccessful runs
- Select which company the job should run in
- Progress message on running jobs
- Job message, to see a message when a job has completed its task
- Last run failed, to filter on unsuccessful jobs
- Possible to run jobs directly in the client as the current user
- Last heartbeat, to see the time when a running job was last updating its progress

That is an important idea and a big pain for us. In our ISV we had a lot of trouble with the Job Queue and have created different notification tools.
1. Send a mail (from the SSMS) when a Job should have started (next starting date is in past with a offset), but doesn't run (so that our support get's a proactive notification that something is not correct)
2. 2 checker Jobs, which run with an Offset and check, that
- check that every Ready Job is also scheduled, if not the Job will be replaned
- Jobs "In Process", which have no active session assigned will be replaned
- cancel scheduled tasks, which have no assinged Job Queue
Irregular the checker Jobs have something to do, mostly because that there is a Ready hob without a Scheduled Task...
