Inn Dynamics 365 Business Central online, I see every day partners and customers with huge tables that must be deleted (sometimes with data size > 50 GB and with > 60 millions of records).

Deleting such huge tables seems not possible on SaaS (the process takes ages and often fails) and to do a cleanup a support request to MS must be raised (and sometimes it's also not satisfied).

Why not providing a native way to perform a TRUNCATE TABLE operation? Maybe with limitations if you think that SIFT can be a problem (tables that often need a truncate have no SIFT, at least on my experience and on all problematic cases I saw in the last years).

Please think on that... it's a must on SaaS now, expecially after years of usage of a SaaS tenant.

P.S. yes there are retention policies, but they are often forgotted or activated too late.

This is a much-needed feature. As a partner, we frequently run into the same limitation—cleaning up large datasets in SaaS environments is extremely time-consuming and often unreliable, and sometimes not even feasible. This not only impacts our efficiency but also leads to frustration for customers who expect their systems to remain lean and performant over time. A native, safe way to perform TRUNCATE TABLE operations (with the right safeguards) would be a huge improvement and save a lot of effort for both partners and customers. Fully support this idea!
