Many companies provide promotional free items/gift items as part of bulk order/special order - the suggestion is to add a functionality to add items (free of charge for the customer) from on hand inventory in SO with regular items, charged - the SO lines containing those items, will be with £0 price and be depleted from the on hand inventory, however they still must have a cost.

Thank you very much for your input. We do not have any plans to extend the current capabilities such as with the use of supplementary items in a non retail scenario. It is possible to add an inventoried item free of charge to a sales order either manually or by using a feature such as supplementary items.
