I also could not remember seeing a timeout message on other Microsoft Browser Products like Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement or the Office 365 Web Apps.

The timeout has been increased to 1 hour in update 14.3 and will be further increased to 2 hours in the 2019 wave 2 release

Furthermore,
- the Client timeout box, are placed on the same spot where possible error og important messages are showed, so no chance to see the what's been showing.
- When the page reloads it's forgotten everything about messages, notifications and your filters.
