Many companies do not schedule resources on the weekend, thus it would be helpful if we could hide these days completely on the schedule board. I would not fix this to Sat/Sun as some countries have different weekend days or companies might have entirely different working days.

Hi Alex,

Thank you for your feedback, this is a great suggestion, however, this is not in our roadmap. We are tracking it and if we get more feedback and votes, we may consider it in the future.

Thanks,

Vinay Nalam,

PM, Microsoft.

This has been a perennial grievance of mine, along with getting rid of the 'Initial public view' SB tab (turns out it was an easy fix). However, the JSON code appears to already exist.

Here are the steps that I have working in a PoC environment atm:

  1. Do a classic Advanced Find and search for 'Schedule Board Settings"
  2. Select your Schedule Board Settings row (To hide 'Initial Public View', just select and deactivate - problem solved)
  3. When opened, scroll all the way to the bottom of the Settings field in the 'Other' section
  4. Locate "ViewMode":"hourAndDay","WorkHours":{"end":18,"start":8} I set the default hours to 8A-6P here
  5. Insert the following code after the "hourAndDay","WorkDays":{"Friday":true,"Monday":true,"Saturday":false,"Sunday":false,"Thursday":true,"Tuesday":true,"Wednesday":true},"WorkHours":{"end":18,"start":8}
  6. Save it and refresh your SB
  7. Open the Schedule Board's Schedular Settings and you'll see the updated UI with the individual day selections

Only show weekdays in the hour view is a often requested feature for my clients. I hope this gets implemented ASAP.

I really hope this is implemented soon. It is a big deal for those using the planning tool, but often they aren't the ones with the ability to upvote this topic, as they aren't on the developing end... What a shame.

No puc entendre com detalls tant bàsics li costi tant a Microsoft d'implementar per així poder donar una satisfacció plena en l'ús del seu software. Tant difícil seria poder canviar els dies que vols visualitzar?

One of these things you say to yourself many times. "Why can you not, not show Saturday and Sunday". Finally got round to searching for it. Added my vote.

It is configurable per planboard wich are the closing days, why would anyone still like to see those closing days in the planboard? It is a waste of space and a planner can therefor easily lose his overview! Please remove them closing days from the planboard instead of marking them as "Unavailable for planning"

When it comes to ease of use and usability, the way it works today is, in a word, bad.

This functionality already exists in other Microsoft products like Outlook.

Therefore, it is unbelievable that something that simple is not yet implemented in a planning tool.

So little change could make so much of a difference.

Screen Real-Estate is so hard to come by/important on this screen.

A handful of incremental improvements / tweaks will go a long way. It's the law of diminishing returns applies, but i feel we're still in the "very valuable" phase of the law. It would be great if we can choose the days of the week which appear. Yep. Def need it. HUGE amount of wasted space. Thanks

Surely, more companies should encounter this... only the 26 people who already voted??... Have done at least 5 projects with the URS and all of the customers had this question. Compared to other products, this is really a disadvantage.
