There was a customer requirement user should able to 'see' the records in grid view but shouldn't able to open the record form to see the detailed information.

currently we can restrict some fields using field security profile but as per customer requirement user shouldn't open the record at all is quiet difficult to implement so concept is like currently we have 'Create', 'Read' , 'Write' another new one 'See' feature which will address above requirement.
