We would love to be able to sync Chart of Accounts, Vendors, and Customers between multiple Business Central companies. This way, when a new account is added/edited, it will automatically be added/changed in different companies.

It's a great and much sought after idea. The current implementation is only partly a solution.

Many extensions that are better already exists:

8 apps for Master Data Management in Business Central in 2022 (usedynamics.com)

Now what we need is:

  1. Ability to setup, control and review all master data from a single company - like F&SC/F&O. Pulling data moves the issues into many companies that must be logged into every time to setup and debug.
  2. It cannot pull data from files or other databases/environments. It does not support localized environments which is often used by multi-company setups.
  3. It does not support "Delete" or "Rename". The explaination for this is that it should not delete data in a company with entries etc. but this could easily be supported by insert/modify/delete/rename triggers.

Hey,

Please check this on Microsoft AppSource which is an awesome extension for data synchronization to multiple entities.

Hope it is helpful

IT-INTEGRO has a great add-on to solve this

In real estate industry customers are having multiple legal entities / companies as well. Obviously those companies share at least the same vendors/contacts, but also generic configuration like the chart of accounts. In the old old days we customized contact related tables to be per tenant (Data per company=false). To remove this footprint in BC we need a solution to share (or sync) data between companies.

Yes, and the ability to sync inventory, customers, vendors, etc.

Please have a look at the 'framework' available on D365FO build by Avanade. Having this would be a huge help in maintaining (master) data in BC.

We have 100+ companies in the system. This was real pain. We had to build a custom solution.
The synch option must be available for major master data Chart of Accounts, Dimensions, Contacts, Customers, Vendors and Items etc.

Very good idea, currently we have 24 companies (including 4 consolidation companies) and we try to maintain a global Chart of Accounts however it is challenging when we add or modify any account we need to repeat 24 times. This can also reduce the chance of human error for maintaining other global tables like vendor and customer.

This is a great idea. We have many years a solution for this in our ISV. But in my opinion it is not only our customers that need to have this function. It is a general function for many implementations. It should be nice if we could reduce our footprint to the application.
