Right now, Dynamics for Marketing sends an confirmation per session registration. This is confusing for visitors. The registration process is clearer for visitors when they can register for the event and the sessions in one go and then receive a combined confirmation email for the event with all the sessions someone registered for.
Comments
Hi! You can control the emails being sent out for your event, sending them just for an event or for per session.
While crafting your customer journeys, you can go ahead and target event registrations in your triggers, only sending emails when a contact registers for an event.
Triggering and crafting campaigns is documented here -https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/marketing/customer-journeys-create-automated-campaigns

Thank you for your feedback.
We improved the functionality for session and event registration as a part of the Oct 2019 and Feb 2020 releases.
Please refer to the following link for more information: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/session-level-registration for how to correctly set up session level registrations, and https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/invite-register-house-event-attendees#register-attendees-for-events-sessions-and-passes to set up event registrations correctly!
Sincerely,
