What benefit do you see from hybrid model usage?
Offline DB is usually located on the same PC/tablet, when POS is installed - this device usually has not super good characteristics (not much CPU/RAM, etc.), when store server with Retail server is faster and also has caching functionality + offline DB is not always up to date, it can be in sync process.
