"Most of retail business customers don´t use internal item numbers. Instead they are using EAN codes which are provided by suppliers (this is an International Article Number also known as European Article Number or EAN).
Therefore it is very important to show (to display) these EAN codes on the standard warehousing mobile device to enable customers to verify items. This EAN value can be stored in Barcode table or GTIN table.

Currently EAN codes (or the BarCode or GTIN ) values never will be shown on mobile device in D365FO on any menu item involving an item. It´s not even integrated in the “Warehouse app field priority” application of mobile device table.

It is mandatory for retail customers to see these EAN codes whenever an item is displayed on the mobile device on each menu item wherever necessary. It´s for all retail projects relevant, cause all of these customers are working with these numbers instead of their own item numbers.
So this is general function for all retail customers that should be available in standard application so to avoid a self-made/ custom solution. This needs to be added on each display method of the warehouse mobile device.

1. Mode indirect:
- location inquiry
- license plate inquiry
- item inquiry
- reprint label
- license plate build
- license plate break

2. Mode work:
- Movement
- Adjustment in and out
- License plate receiving / and put away
- Purchase order lice, item receiving / and put away
- movement by template
- spot cycle count
- return order receiving / and put away
- warehouse transfer
- transfer order line and item receiving / and put away
- mixed license plate receiving / and put away

Example Crossdocking (license plate receiving)
- Scan defined NVE (SSCC) number by vendor provided via ASN
- Itemlist will be shown (displays contentof box)
- only D365 itemnumbers will be display, even without item description
- worker isn´t able to identify items because only EAN is available for checking

Example put away work.
- Items have been received during inbound process and put away work was created.
- Worker will scan license plate
- display of item number, item description and variant (color + size).
- color name and color size are numbers instead of names and so it isn´t exactly clear, which item is meant to put away. For ex.: 2 belt, same name, same size but two colors - no chance to verify which item is what.
- therefore only EAN code is the exact number
*the issue is not a function, it´s the display method. The main issue is based on put away work and also on look ups (inventory on location, item inventory, location inventory,…..) "
