not supported via Shift+scroll wheel (on mouse).
Users literally need their pointer to be in the very narrow horizontal scroll bar before my thumb wheel on the computer mouse or touchpad allows the table to scroll horizontally. Scrolling a table vertically works regardless of where the pointer is in the table. Please allow the same for scrolling horizontally, it will save time in nearly every page as there are many tables with many columns in Business Central.

We figured this out: when there is a freeze pane on the list (perhaps only in the first couple columns) this doesn't work. If you move the freeze pane to the last column (effectively removing the freeze pane), you can SHIFT+SCROLL to scroll horizontally.

We're in version 27.3 right now and it's working with SHIFT+Scroll Wheel on Sales and Purchase Invoice Lines subforms, but we can't identify any other lists where this is functional.

I guess horizontal scrolling is doable, but you need to be hovering over the horizontal scroll bar and use the SHIFT key with the mouse wheel.In the old Windows role-tailored client, you could horizontal scroll using the CTRL + mouse wheel combination from anywhere in the lines.If you're going to make us go to the scroll bar to be able to scroll at all, we may as well use the scroll bar this hotkey is supposed to replace!Who thought of this and said, "yep, that's exactly how they'll want to do this!"?

It seems like this issue has been resolved in version 22.1 (on-premises). It would be nice though if smooth scrolling was possible, now it scrolls column by column (with a slight transition animation). What would be better is 100% smooth scrolling en only snapping to a column when stopping scrolling. Smooth scrolling enables easier reading when searching through the columns.Another BIG missing feature is horizontal scrolling through touch screen!Users using touchscreens, trackpads, thumbwheels on mice all expect 100% smooth scrolling!

This used to also have a hotkey by pressing CTRL while scrolling the mouse wheel. In a browser-based app, this makes the zoom level change. If we replaced CTRL with a different key paired with the scroll wheel, this would also help mouse users (most of the users).

This seems to be a BUG.
Everything seems to work fine as long as you don't freeze the first x columns with personalization. Freezing the first x columns breaks the functionality of horizontal scrolling.
