Almost always users need to give more detailed information if the appointment is for sales purposes or something else (ie customer service, project management etc). In smaller organizations same people can do sales, service and other stuff but they are only monitored for some type of the appointment.
This means it would be nice to have standard picklist field in Appointment (available also in Outlook standard appointment form) to categorize appointments and by that monitor different kinds of appointment activities
