When a Customer needs to work with "Itrem Variants", we find that the corresponding field is not visible by default on any standard page throughout BC.

As a developer, I could spend my time defining a custom Extension where there would only be objects of type PageExtension from each and every standard table-based page where there is a field with a TableRelation with the field "Item Variant".Code and in which only a Modify of its Visible property is made... but version after version would soon become obsolete.

However, I believe that this great effort should be made by the manufacturer itself, either by defining an Installable Extension over the BaseApp that does it or by activating some type of General Setup that generally shows or hides all that set of fields throughout the application.

Note.-

The same idea could be applied to other traceability fields such as "Reason Code" or "Origin Code", making them visible or not in a general way throughout the system without having to customize or extend all the Pages one by one.
