Issue Description

When performing cycle counting in the Warehouse Management mobile app, using the “Add item / license plate” flow for unexpected inventory, the system enforces serial number entry even when the item’s tracking dimension group is configured with Capture serial number = None.

For the same functional scenario, inventory can be recorded through counting journals or adjustment journals in the Finance and Operations UI without requiring serial numbers. This difference in behavior creates inconsistency across entry points and leads to operational overhead and confusion, especially in high‑volume warehouse environments where serial tracking is intended for traceability rather than operational handling.

Proposed Solution

Provide a consistent and predictable behavior across all inventory entry points by either:

• Ensuring the Warehouse Management mobile app respects the Capture serial number = None configuration during unexpected inventory cycle counting, or
• Standardizing the behavior across mobile and journal-based processes and clearly documenting the intended design, including when and why serial numbers are enforced

This would reduce operational friction, improve usability for warehouse users, and align system behavior with customer expectations for traceability without mandatory serial identification during daily operations.
