Please create alerting mechanism if any batch jobs execute long time. This may be because of any connection issues to DB, large volumes of data or any other issues.
We had multiple instances where batch jobs execute for a very long time and we will not know unless someone manually verifies or integrated down systems report that they did not receive required data.

Yes I agree with Amarbabu. We can faced the similar issue that the Batch job was running for a long time and stuck in 'In progress' for some reason and no data was sent to BYOD.
We tried to make use of custom alert but there is no option on the 'Status' to select 'In progress' to notify users.
If you could expand the alert to notify the user that a Batch job is running for a long time say 1hour, it should notify users.
