I checked, for e. g. a print-out of a “Bill of lading” and I have date settings such as for my country dd.mm.yyyy. Maybe try to set it in: User Option> Preferences> Language and country / region preferences - there is a "Date, time and number format" window – you should set there a proper country and try again date format.
