It is not clear to see that a Position had been retired in the past. If you view a Position record 'as of today' by default, it displays only information which is Active as of today. This makes sense for information such as who the position reports to, or who is currently assigned to it, but if the position was retired in the Past, there is no Retirement date showing. This leads users to believe, that the Position was not retired in the first place when they look at the Position. I understand that there could be multiple history records linked to the Position duration, but the latest Retirement date should be displayed if the Position is not active "As of today" because if it's not, users try to repeatedly retire it. Note: I am aware that you can navigate to the Maintain changes and see the position duration records there, but it would be more user friendly, if latest retirement would be displayed for inactive position directly in the Position record. Repro steps: 1. Have an active Position record 2. Edit the Position retirement date to be in the past 3. Open the Position record again and notice, that there is no Retirement position displayed
