The following Idea is a solution to a LEGAL GERMAN REQUIREMENT
We have email communication with DESTATIS that proves that this is a legal requirement. We can share this with you if required.
DESTATIS, the German statistics authority and the federal state of Hessen have different requirements for the Registration No. in the table Company Information.
While the federal state of Hessen requires a leading 0, the DESTATIS authority does not.
This leads to the situation that the field Registration No. must have 11 digits when reporting VAT statement and 10 digits when creating the Intrastat documentation for DESTATIS.
The workaround to add or delete the leading 0 for the Registration number before sending either VAT or Intrastat information is not acceptable.
Our suggested solution is as follows.
If Area Tax Code is "Hessen", the leading 0 should not be added by a user in the "Registration No." field, but should automatically be added when creating the XML file from the Sales VAT Adv. Notif. Card (11016, Card).
This way, the Registration No. can be entered as a regular 10 digit registration no and both, VAT Statement as well as Intrastat reporting is possible without manual manipulation of the Registration No.
We reported this Idea because the partner support told us to.
Please use this solution or find a better one.
