The configuration and data manager has potential to be an amazing tool. I do feel it needs a number of improvements though. Here are a couple of suggestion for the tool that I have come up with:

* After click 'Apply' in the job history, the job seems to sit at 'Request not submitted to the environment' status for quite some time. There is no way of knowing how long it sits at this status. It would be good to get some feedback on how long before it will apply.
* The 'View details' section is 'Job history' is rather useless. It gives no more information that the 'Job History' screen. Perhaps this should detail all the steps that the selected job will take so that we can see all the steps to be taken. Each step should have a start datetime and end datetime. That way we can see what's in progress, and how long each step takes.
* At present, the only way to upload a template or data file into the 'Configuration and data manager' is to manually download the package and then manually upload it to LCS. It would be great if system administrators had the ability to click a button from D365FO and upload the template or data package directly into the 'Configuration and data manager' from the D365FO interface.
* If I am managing 1 version of a template or data package, the only way to upload new versions of a template/data package into the 'Configuration and data manager' while keeping the same naming convention in the tool, is to first delete the current version and then re-upload. It would be useful to have the ability to upload a new version of the template/data package and to delete old version files that are no longer required. Essentially the ability to properly manage file versions for the configuration in question.
