In the Inventory Aging report the age of the item is not being calculated from the date of first inward.

Rather the system is calculating based on the latest transfer date to a warehouse.

There should be an option to run this report based on acquisition or on movement. For businesses that use inventory as collateral for bank loans the age of inventory based on the first receipt/acquisition is very important. Currently the report shows the aging based on movement.

For example:

Run the inventory aging as of 3/31/23

  • view the age of a specific item

Transfer the inventory to a new location on 4/21/23

Rerun the inventory aging as of 4/21/23 and that inventory now shows 0-30 days old. Brand New!!!!

Exactly, it is calculating the last movement as transfer movement in the warehouse
