We have a lot of small production orders, scheduled on a certain resource.

If you open the Gantt chart directly from the resource (or resource group), the information shown is sorted by production order number (and operation ID).
A possibility should exist to sort on the scheduled Start Date instead.

We often reschedule many of our production orders, this means that there is no link between production order ID and it's scheduled sequence (and start time). This means that our Gantt chart is quite unusable in those situations.

Thank you for your feedback.

This is a great suggestion! We will consider this in our roadmap.

On top on the ability to order/display Jobs by start date/time (at least like a order option added under the left panel options) . I think MS needs to improve the "display" of the left section of the Gantt Chart. So columns are aligned properly within the left section. Now the information is all over the place and the user is forced to adjust manually the width of each column. Currently, there is no function to save a "view" of the left panel view. So when the Gantt is closed and relaunched the information should be displayed according to the saved view, including the columns and the width of the columns

Our customer requires this as mandatory/critical feature to be able to use the Gantt chart to schedule the production jobs due to high number of jobs they need to manage every day.

Any news regarding that ide? It would be really helpful! There is no point in working with the current version, since the sorting makes absolutely no sense. thanks

This is a definite need, past projects and my current one.

Without this functionality it essentially nullifies the Gantt Chart scheduling feature as it currently exists in D365 F&O. Cody TurriffBalchem Corp.

Great idea. It should be flexible on what field to sort on just like in other forms.
