The load planning workbench is meant to allow you to plan loads against sales orders which could be in advance of when the stock is actually available to be reserved. For batch/serial below items or none tracked items it is possible to build several loads from a sales order and for large loads you can release to warehouse and begin picking only the quantity that has been reserved. As other stock then becomes available you can manually reserve from the sales order and release the load to warehouse again. This can be repeated multiple times, creating multiple pieces of work for the same shipment and load, allowing users to begin picking large orders before all inventory is available. If any batch/serial above items are added to a load the same is not possible because all dimensions for the load line must be specified. This means that if batch/serial above items are on a load, the first work can only be created when the full quantity of batch/serial number above items have been fully reserved.
1. Allow release to warehouse of other reserved items on a load if all dimensions are not specified on an unreserved serial above or batch above item.
2. Automatically split the load lines as reservations for batch and serialised items are made. E.g. if a quantity of three of a serialised item is added to a load, as a reservation for one is made against a specific line quantity reduce the original load line to 2 and add a new line for one with the serial number dimension specified.
