About the XMLPort extensibility. At Becks one of our Food division partners within Aptean they have a solution app for EDI. This is based on XMLPorts. An XMLPort for every inbound and outbound message and ‘copies’ for customizations when needed for customers.

We will refactor this to become an Aptean Food & Beverage solution on AppSource for a global reach / span.
We want to become as flexible as can be and we would like to extend an XMLPort because of customization, i.e. that our project services team and external VAR partners can do the customisations on top.

So what if we would be able to extend a XMLPort, extend the schema, extend an element, extend an attribute?

But this is for our convenience, inside our app. For customization however we would have to ‘copy’ or ‘embed’ our base code. That’s why we are asking.
BTW this will become a “horizontal” not a “vertical | industry focus” app, so for anyone to use on top of vanilla Business Central.
