Currently there is no variant field in the header for Firm Planned Orders, Release Production Orders, etc. Currently you have to refresh an order using the parent item number and then enter the variant code on the order line. Both inefficient and confusing for employees. Also creates a lack of visibility.

This is a really good step forward:

The BOM & Routing No are default not visible on the SKU card page so the user has to add them.

It works if you create a production order manually, but you need to be really careful because they have not modified any of the material planning functionality to support it. This is inexcusable in my view...
They have also not extended the functions on the Item card to the SKU card that allow you to look at the BOM and Rolled Up Cost Share structures

So a good work in progress, but I will have to think very carefully before implementing this as it may open a whole can of worms when it comes to costing and planning. This is a real shame as we have developed this plus most of the missing bits for one customer and have a requirement for it at another...
