Organizations often only create budget plans for expenses or revenue+expense accounts. Currently there is no way to limit the choice of main accounts in a budget plan to a specific account range. Hence users could mistakenly record budgets for balance sheet accounts or other accounts which are not supposed to be budgeted as well.

A filtering option for main account ranges should be made available on the budget plan layouts.
