Today there is a possibility in the General Ledger Setup one parameter to define which 'data exchange definition' you can use for importing Payroll Transactions.

The import of Payroll Transactions is a very good functionality and is sometimes used for multiple purposes.
(Import Payroll Transactions / other general postings / ... )

It would be better to have a choice on the General Journal Page (P39) to have an additional button, f.e. Import Transactions with choice. If you click on the button then you will receive the possibility to choose data exchange definition & you can import the file.
