As per the discussion in the Dynamics CRM partner forum: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/partnerdynamicscrm/thread/dfa2a626-6b5b-40d0-9d8a-37d9bb96436a/

I noticed something when viewing opportunity charts in Dynamics CRM 2011 which I find quite confusing: It seems to me that the series for some charts don't seem to be reflecting the appropriate records.

Consider a system where you have several opportunities registered (some as win, some as cancelled, some as out-sold).

1. Click on SALES | OPPORTUNITY to view the registered opportunities

2. Select the view CLOSED OPPORTUNITIES

3. Expand the chart pane and select the chart DEALS WON VS DEALS LOST

4. CORRECT BEHAVIOUR: On the chart, click on the green bar (deals won) and notice how the view is filtered to show only records that have been marked as WON. Now click on the orange bar (deals lost) and notice how the view is filtered to show only records that have been marked as LOST

So far so good. Now this is the part that gets me confused!

5. Still on SALES | OPPORTUNITY, make sure you still have CLOSED OPPORTUNITIES as your selected view

6. IMPORTANT: Make sure that your view is NOT filtered in any way (click the FILTER funnel icon so it is NOT marked as enabled)

7. On the chart pane, select the chart DEALS WON VS DEALS LOST PER OWNER

8. DUBIOUS BEHAVIOUR: On the chart, click on one of the green bars (deals won for a given owner) and notice how the view is filtered. In my case, it DOES filter the view by the owner in question, but it DOES NOT filter only the opportunities closed as WON. Same happens if I click on one of the orange bars (deals lost for a given owner): It doesn't filter the view to show me only the records marked as LOST (however, like with the green bar, it does filter by the owner in question).

A representative from MSFT told me she could replicate this issue and that I should raise it as a bug.
