One of the limitations hit by anyone dealing with a lot of data, especially when tableextensions are involved due to the joins they cause, is that there is no way at all to guide the behavior of the built-in search box in the corner via page code/properties.

If you added the option to control which fields are searched (and make some form of column highlights in the UI when searching so users don't get confused about it) while leaving the default search behavior as it is today, this would be something where partners could reduce the search to specific fields that are properly covered by indexes, when required due to performance concerns.

It would also be compatible with multiple apps extending a baseapp page if you consider the list of fields searched something that can be appended to from multiple pageextensions.
