Business Central users employ dimension values to track and analyze financial information by factors such as campaigns, projects, etc. Often, these factors are time-constrained.

Currently, Business Central allows users to 'block' dimension values manually, but this does not consider the posting date of associated transactions.

Customers would benefit from the ability to set timeframes during which a dimension value may be used. Postings using a dimension value with a 'valid from' or 'valid to' date would only be permitted if the posting date of the transaction falls within the valid date range. Dimension values without 'valid from' or 'valid to' dates could be used in postings at any time.

This functionality would reduce accidental mispostings and serve as a warning to users that they may have selected the wrong dimension value.
